What if I miss my ferry DFDS?

If you missed your sailing, you have no claim for refund or credits of the amount paid for the trip. On our English Channel services, if you miss your ferry crossing for any reason, you can transfer free of charge (subject to availability) to the sailing directly after your original booked crossing time.

If you are running late and are likely to miss your ferry, we suggest proceeding to the port to see if the ferry company will allow you to change the ticket to a different day or departure time. Keep in mind that if you do miss your ferry, the tickets are non-refundable.

Can you get a refund on ferry tickets? Once you have canceled your booking you will get a refund, which is provided by the ferry company(ies) you had booked your trip with. You will be refunded with the maximum amount possible according to the remaining time between your cancellation and the departure date. Service fees, if applicable, are also refundable.

How long is Wightlink crossing? How long does it take? The crossing is around 45 minutes on board one of Wightlink’s spacious ferries.

Is the Cape May ferry worth it?

Yes, you pay for it but it shaves off a lot of time driving to Cape May or other Jersey shore points. They have excellent seats on the inside and outside and if you have a pet, they are welcome on the outside. You can also get food and drinks at the cafe or a souvenir at the gift shop.
