Is Shaver Lake open now? The lake is open year around for fishing and state fishing regulations apply. Nearby creeks and streams also have seasonal closures.

Dorabelle Campground is a popular family camping destination near Shaver Lake. Some sites offer lake views. Several sites are shaded by a thick stand of fir, cedar and pine trees, while others are more open.
Does Camp Edison have hook ups? Camp Edison is located next to Shaver Lake in the western Sierra mountains and has 252 campsites. Campsites 133-175 have full hookups and the other 209 sites have electric hookups. Check-in time is 1:00 pm to 9:30 pm.

Can you camp anywhere in Shaver Lake?
Dispersed Camping is allowed in the National Forest except in the area surrounding Huntington Lake, Shaver Lake, Bass Lake, Redinger Lake, and the Merced River Canyon. Campfire permits are required at all times whenever you plan to have a fire on public land outside of a developed campground.
Is Shaver Lake open now 2021? The lake, shoreline, boat slips, marinas, day-use areas and nearby trails will open from 8 am to 8 pm.
Are the forests still closed in California? The four National Forests remain closed in Sothern California in addition to some National Forest System lands for public safety due to ongoing wildfires. The Eldorado National Forest emergency closure is a result of the Caldor Fire and the hazards associated with it.
Do you have to pay to go to Shaver Lake? Visitors have four park options near Shaver Lake including Tamarack. To get access you’ll need to pay for a $5 day pass or a $25 season pass, which is good until May. They can be purchased in many of the stores in Shaver. If you’re caught without one, you could face a nearly $100 fine.

Can you fish in Shaver Lake?
The Shaver Lake Basin is located in the Sierra National Forest where a wide variety of fishing opportunities abound. Angling is available on large rivers, nearly 400 lakes, several large reservoirs, and countless streams. These waters are home to five species of trout and kokanne salmon.
Does Big Sur have dispersed camping? Prewitt Ridge seems to be the best bet for free dispersed camping in Big Sur. It is located high above the Big Sur Coastline, and you’ll most likely need a 4-wheel drive vehicle to get up the dirt road. The views and sunsets are fantastic, but it can get pretty warm in the summer.

Is 168 Open to shaver?
Highway 168 at Huntington Lake Road (at Shaver Lake Marina) is temporarily closed.
Do you need chains to go to Shaver Lake today? Vehicles traveling in The Shaver Lake region during winter months are required to carry chains at all times. You must put on chains when highway signs indicate.
